What to wear!
We recommend that you wear a swimming costume, t-shirt, shorts and secure shoes for your walk in/out of the gorge. A peak hat is recommended as it will fit comfortably under your helmet. Do not forget to apply sunscreen, factor 20 provides good protection. Additional clothes cannot be taken on the trip. These can be left at check in for safekeeping and will be available for you at the top of the gorge, at the end of your trip.
Spectacles & contacts
Spectacles need to be fitted with appropriate straps, if not, string is provided at check in. Contact lenses are not recommended as they can get washed-out, however there is no danger to wearing contact lenses and the choice is yours.
Valuables
Do not bring any valuables with you. Please leave all your valuable jewellery and passport at your hotel for safekeeping. Shearwater provides a safekeeping facility at check in, where valuables can be left at your own risk.
Refreshments
We will provide you with orange juice and water to drink on the boat, lunch during the trip, minerals and beers at the end of your trip. No alcohol or drugs are permitted on the river. Anyone found to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs will be asked to leave the trip and no refund will be given. If you have any dietary requirements please advise the consultant upon booking.
Medical conditions
If you suffer from any allergies, diabetes or other medical problems please inform the consultant upon booking, and the trip leader and your guide at check in.
Cancellations
There will be NO REFUND for any cancellations made the day before or on the day of the trip. There will be NO REFUND for cancellations made due to the weather.
