“Walk with ^ Pride”………….
Walk side by side with the King of the jungle. “The Shearwater Pride” invites you to take a walk on the wild side and interact with the rowdy adolescents as well as learn about the conservation issues faced by lions today.
Come walk with the Pride…..The Shearwater Pride, no leashes, no collars, and the pride roam freely with you through the African bush.
Morning or afternoon walks are on offer at our very own Victoria Falls Private Game Reserve.
Morning safaris include a continental breakfast. Afternoon safaris provide drinks and snacks. |
All our trips include:
- Transportation from all major lodges and hotels to the Private Game Reserve 25 minutes/12km drive from Victoria Falls town centre.
- Experienced, armed guides will accompany every lion walk and carry with them a first aid kit and communication radio.
- The Safety talk includes introductions to the “pride” and how to behave around the King of the Jungle.
- Return Transfers to town
What “TO” bring:
- Cameras
- Sun block.
- Wide brimmed hats.
- Neutral colored clothes.
- Comfortable walking shoes.
- Personal medication.
- Booking voucher.
What “NOT” to bring:
- No open sandals.
- No dresses or skirts.
- No white or bright colored clothing.
- No dangling objects or clothing that would attract the lions to you, equipment.
- Passports, jewellery and valuables should be left in hotel lockups.
Age Restriction
- Minimum age 15 years-
- Under 18years will need to have indemnity signed by legal guardian
- Height restriction of 1.5metres (Sorry but lions made that rule themselves).
Booking Restriction
- Minimum of 2 passengers per trip.
- Maximum of 8 passengers per trip.

Pick up Times
- Summer 05h00 - 05h30 and Winter 05h30 - 06h00
- Afternoon trips – 14h30 – 15h00 all year
General Info
Equipment: All lion walk clients are given equipment for Lion Walks (sticks)
Guides - All Shearwater guides are first aid qualified and there are 3 lion handlers on a trip plus a Trip leader. All Trip Leaders carry a 458 rifle, a communication radio and a first aid kit.
Health - Clients will be asked to declare any illnesses, injuries or ailments that may affect them during the trip.
Indemnity & Insurance - Shearwater Adventures has a Public Liability Insurance cover of USD 1 million per incident, which is underwritten by Lloyds of London.
Communication - A radio is carried on every Shearwater trip, enabling us to have radio communication with our base and MARS.
Videos - Professional footage of your trip will be taken, edited, and made available to you for viewing and purchase at the end of your trip. |
