CAPRIVI, NAMIBIA
The Caprivi is a narrow strip of land in the far northeast of Namibia, about 400 kilometres long. The Caprivi is the wettest region in Namibia and sustains an abundance of animal and birdlife. On a Caprivi safari witness up to 70% of the recorded bird species found in Namibia.
The Caprivi landscape, in contrast to much of Namibia, is a water wonderland of floodplains surrounded by perennial rivers. The game and birdlife is plentiful, and the four game parks are largely unexplored by tourists.
Activities include watersports, fishing and game viewing in 4x4 safari vehicles. The capital of the Caprivi region, Katima Mulilo, is only a three-hour drive to the adventure centre of Victoria Falls village in Zimbabwe.
