Discover Zambia’s Luangwa Valley – one of Africa’s prime wildlife sanctuaries with more than 60 mammal species and over 400 bird species – on this exhilarating 6-day/5-night safari. Enjoy splendid accommodation at Nkwali Camp where you can explore the wilderness on afternoon and evening game drives and walks. A morning game drive will take you to the Luangwa River where a banana boat will transfer you across the river to Tena Tena. The camp offers a range of activities, including daily bush walks, game drives and all-day drives with bush picnics.

Day 1 & 2 : MKWALI CAMP
On arrival at Mfuwe Airport you will be met and driven to Nkwali Camp. This is superb game viewing country, with a beautiful area of ebony woodland and open grass plains. Elephants often cross the Luangwa and are seen from the large thatched bar and lounge area on the main terrace above the river. Activities include afternoon and evening game-drives and walks.
Two overnights at Nkwali Camp in a twin bedded bamboo and thatch chalet with en suite facilities. Accommodation is on a full board basis including scheduled activities.
Day 3 - 5 : TENA TENA
Morning game-drive to the Luangwa River, where a banana boat transfers you across the river to Tena Tena. Groves of mahogany trees shade the large custom-made tents. From the thatched dining room and bar, guests can watch the elephants, hippo and antelope on the riverbanks. Nearby is a spectacular lagoon, Baka Baka, a rich congregation point for game. The emphasis at Tena Tena is on flexibility and great game-viewing. There are daily walks in the bush, game-drives and all-day drives with bush picnics.
Three overnights at Tena Tena in a twin bedded large custom-made tent with en suite facilities. Accommodation is on a full board basis including scheduled activities.
(Day 04 + 05 may be spent at Nsefu Camp, which is 12 kilometres north of Tena Tena where accommodation is in rondavels with a view of the river).
Day 6 :
A final game-drive through the Park before returning to Mfuwe Airport. |
